Abstract

A. EXPORT
  • The value of Indonesia’s exports in June 2022 reached US$26.09 billion, increased 21.30 percent compared to exports in May 2022 and rose 40.68 percent compared to June 2021.
  • Non-oil and gas exports in June 2022 reached US$24.56 billion, increased 22.71 percent compared to non-oil and gas exports in May 2022 and rose 41.89 percent compared to June 2021.
  • Cumulatively, Indonesia’s exports from January to June 2022 reached US$141.07 billion, increased 37.11 percent over the same period in 2021. Likewise, non-oil and gas exports reached US$133.31 billion or increased 37.33 percent.
  • The highest increase of non-oil and gas exports in June 2022 was animal or vegetable fats and oils commodity, in amount of US$2,538.9 million or increased 300.66 percent from May 2022. The highest decrease was iron and steel commodity, in amount of US$491.7 million or decreased 18.02 percent.
  • By industry classification, exports of manufacturing products during period January–June 2022 increased by 25.82 percent; exports of agriculture, forestry and fisheries increased by 13.19 percent; and exports of mining and others increased by 107.19 percent compared to the same period in 2021.
  • The main country destinations of non-oil and gas exports in June 2022 were China at US$5.09 billion, India at US$2.53 billion, and United States at US$2.46 billion, with the contribution of the three reached 41.06 percent. Meanwhile, exports to ASEAN and the European Union (27 countries) amounted to US$5.08 billion and US$1.68 billion, respectively.
  • According to the province of origin, Indonesia’s largest exports in January–June 2022 came from Jawa Barat with a value of US$19.23 billion (13.64 percent), followed by Kalimantan Timur at US$16.06 billion (11.39 percent), and Jawa Timur at US$12.87 billion (9.12 percent).

B. IMPORT
  • Imports of Indonesia in June 2022 were worth US$21.00 billion, increased by 12.87 percent compared with May 2022, or rose by 21.98 percent compared with June 2021.
  • Imports of oil and gas in June 2022 were worth US$3.67 billion, rose by 9.52 percent compared with May 2022, or increased by 59.84 percent compared with June 2021.
  • Imports of non-oil and gas in June 2022 were worth US$17.33 billion, increased by 13.60 percent compared with May 2022, or grew by 16.15 percent compared with June 2021.
  • The most significant increase in imports of non-oil and gas in June 2022 was machinery/mechanical appliances and parts thereof, which grew by US$611.5 million (27.99 percent). On the other hand, sugars and sugar confectionery experienced the highest fall with US$152.8 million (39.57 percent) decrease.
  • The largest trading partner countries of non-oil and gas imports in January–June 2022 were China US$32.08 billion (33.17 percent), Japan US$8.35 billion (8.63 percent), and Thailand US$5.83 billion (6.03 percent). Imports of non-oil and gas from ASEAN and EU countries were US$16.82 billion (17.39 percent) and US$5.49 billion (5.67 percent), respectively.
  • Compared with the same period last year, the total of Indonesia imports for all broad economics categories in January–June 2022 experienced increases, which consisted of US$712.9 million (8.11 percent) of consumption goods, US$21,010.9 million (30.41 percent) of intermediate goods, and US$3,418.4 million (25.98 percent) of capital goods.
  • Indonesia’s balance of trade in June 2022 experienced a surplus of US$5.09 billion, which mainly affected by a surplus of non-oil and gas of US$7.23 billion. On the other hand, there was a deficit of US$2.14 billion in oil and gas.
