Abstract

Based on Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at current prices in the first quarter of 2022, Indonesia’s economy reached IDR 4,513.0 trillion. At constant prices (2010), it reached IDR 2, 818.6 trillion.

Indonesia’s economy grew by 5.01 percent in the first quarter of 2022, compared to the first quarter of 2021 (y-on-y). Transportation and Storage experienced the highest growth at 15.79 percent, from production side. Meanwhile, the Export of Goods and Services experienced the highest growth at 16.22 percent on the expenditure side.

Indonesia’s economy in the first quarter of 2022 contracted by 0.96 percent compared to the previous quarter (q-to-q). The deepest contraction from the production side, occurred in the Human Health and Social Work Activities at 16.54 percent. Meanwhile, the General Government Final Consumption Expenditure (GGFCE) experienced the deepest contraction at 50.54 percent on the expenditure side.

The group of provinces in Jawa Island dominated Indonesia’s spatially economic structure in the first quarter of 2022, with a share of 57.78 percent (y-on-y). Therefore, its economic performance grew by 5.07 percent compared to quarter I-2021.
