Abstract

The Progress of Farmers’ Terms of Trade
  • FTT is ratio of the index of prices received by farmers (It) and the index of prices paid by farmers (Ib).
  • FTT is an indicator to measure farmers’ purchasing power parity in rural areas. FTT shows the terms of trade of agricultural products with goods and services consumption and production costs.
  • In April 2022, national FTT was 108.46 or decreased by 0.76 percent compared with that in March 2022. The decrease of FTT was due to the increase in the index of prices received by farmers (It) at 0.06 percent lower than the increase in the index of prices paid by farmers (Ib) at 0.83 percent.
  • In April 2022, Kalimantan Selatan Province experienced the highest decrease of FTT at 2.21 percent. On the other hand, Kalimantan Barat Province had the highest increase of FTT at 1.44 percent.
  • The price index of household consumption (IKRT) in April 2022 increased by 0.97 percent in Indonesia, which was due to the increase in almost all of the indexes of expenditure groups.
  • Nationally, Agriculture’s Terms of Trade (NTUP) was 108.64 in April 2022 or decreased by 0.56 percent compared with March 2022.

Trend of Producer Price of Paddy and Rice at the Huller Level

  • There were 2,677 paddy sales transacঞons recorded in 29 provinces during April 2022. The percentage of transacঞons varied by the quality of the paddy, which was the dried harvested grain (GKP) 66.60 percent, dried unhusked grain (GKG) 14.46 percent, and the other quality 18.94 percent.
  • During April 2022, the average GKP price at the farmer level was Rp4,369 per kg, or decreased by 4.40 percent compared to the price of similar quality paddy in the previous month. Likewise, the average GKP price at the huller level was Rp4,481 per kg, or decreased by 4.73 percent. The average price of GKG at the farmer level was Rp5,074 per kg, or decreased by 5.16 percent. Meanwhile, at the huller level was Rp5,194 per kg, or decreased by 5.12 percent. The price of the other quality paddy at the farmer level was Rp4,195 per kg, or decreased by 1.45 percent. While at the huller level was Rp4,289 per kg, or decreased by 2.01 percent.
  • Compared to April 2021, the average price of paddy at the farmer level in April 2022 for GKP, GKG, and the other quality paddy increased by 2.20 percent, 3.93 percent, and 5.37 percent, respecঞvely. Likewise, at the huller level, the average price of paddy in April 2022 for GKP, GKG, and the other quality paddy increased by 1.90 percent, 3.99 percent, and 5.03 percent, respectively.
  • In April 2022, the survey of rice producer prices at the huller level was conducted in 31 provinces and recorded 1,188 observaঞons from 912 milling businesses.
  • Compared to the previous month, the average price of premium quality rice at the huller level was Rp9,577 per kg, or decreased by 2.14 percent. The price of medium quality rice at the huller level was Rp9,104 per kg, or decreased by 2.35 percent, and the average price of the other quality rice at the huller level was Rp8,853 per kg, or decreased by 2.29 percent.
  • Compared to April 2021, the average price of rice at the huller level for premium, medium, and the other quality increased by 0.28 percent, 1.40 percent and 2.05 percent, respectively.
