Abstract

Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) is a comparison of the index of prices received by farmers (It) against the price index paid by farmers (Ib).
NTP is one indicator to see the level of ability / purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows terms of trade of agricultural products with goods and services consumed and for production costs. The higher the NTP, the stronger the ability / purchasing power of farmers is relatively stronger.
The national NTP for May 2019 was 102.61, up 0.38 percent compared to the previous month's NTP. The increase in NTP was due to the Farmer Accepted Price Index (It) which rose by 0.86 percent, greater than the increase in the Farmer Paid Price Index (Ib) of 0.48 percent.
In May 2019, D.I. Yogyakarta Province NTP experienced the highest increase (2.01 percent) compared to the increase in other provincial NTPs. In contrast, Aceh Province NTP experienced the largest decrease (2.10 percent) compared to the decrease in other provincial NTPs.
In May 2019 there was rural inflation in Indonesia of 0.59 percent, caused by a increase in the index in all the groups clothing.
The national Agricultural Household Exchange (NTUP) value for May 2019 was 111.94 increase compared to NTUP the previous month.
Out of 2,007 grain sales transactions in 28 provinces during May 2019, 72.50 percent of dry harvested rice (GKP), 11.26 percent of dry grain (GKG), and 16.24 percent of low quality grain were recorded.
During May 2019, the average price of GKP at the farm level was Rp. 4,356.00 per kg, down 0.02 percent and at the grinding level Rp. 4,445.00 per kg or down 0.01 percent compared to the same quality grain price at April 2019. The average price of GKG at the farm level is Rp. 5,172.00 per kg, up 0.88 percent and at the grinding level Rp. 5,298.00 per kg or down 1.47 percent. The price of low quality grain at the farm level is Rp. 4,022.00 per kg, down 0.01 percent and at the grinding level Rp. 4,118.00 per kg or down 0.01 percent.
Compared to May 2018, the average price in May 2019 at the farm level for all qualities, namely GKP, GKG, and low quality decreased by 4.36 percent, 1.80 percent and 6.58 percent. Likewise at the grinding level, the average price in May 2019 for all qualities, namely GKP, GKG, and low quality also decreased by 4.23 percent, 1.40 percent increase 6.34 percent.
In May 2019, the average price of premium quality rice in the mill was Rp. 9,462.00 per kg, down by 0.03 percent compared to the previous month. The average price of medium quality rice in the mill is IDR 9,143.00 per kg, down by 0.02 percent. While the average price of low quality rice in the mill is Rp. 8,953.00 per kg, down by 0.19 percent.
Compared to May 2018, the average price of rice in the mill in May 2019 for all qualities, namely premium, medium and low decreased by 0.65 percent, 0.52 percent and 0.54 percent respectively.
