Abstract

  • Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) is a comparison of the index of prices received by farmers (It) against the price index paid by farmers (Ib).
  • NTP is one indicator to see the level of ability / purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows terms of trade of agricultural products with goods and services consumed and for production costs. The higher the NTP, the stronger the ability / purchasing power of farmers is relatively stronger.
  • The national NTP for January 2019 was 103.33, up 0.16 percent compared to the previous month's NTP. The increase in NTP was due to the Farmer Accepted Price Index (It) which rose by 0.57 percent, greater than the increase in the Farmer Paid Price Index (Ib) of 0.41 percent.
