Abstract

Human development in Indonesia continues to progress marked by the continued increase in the Human Development Index (HDI) of Indonesia. In 2016, Indonesia's HDI has reached 70.18. This figure increased by 0.63 points compared with Indonesia's HDI in 2015 which amounted to 69.55.

In 2016, the status of human development in Indonesia increased from "moderate" to "high". Indonesia's HDI in 2016 grew by 0.91 percent compared to 2015.

During the period from 2015 to 2016, HDI-forming components also increased. Newborns have a chance to live up to 70.90 years, up 0.12 years compared to the previous year. Children 7 years of age have the opportunity to go to school for 12.72 years, increase 0.17 years compared to 2015. Meanwhile, the population aged 25 years and above the average has been studying for 7.95 years, an increase of 0, 11 years compared to the previous year. Expenditure per capita (constant 2012 prices) community has reached USD 10.42 million in 2016, an increase of Rp 270 thousand rupiah compared to the previous year.
