Abstract

Production of paddy in year 2002 (preliminary figure) was 51.38 million tons, which increased by 1.82 per cent over the production in 2001. The increase of paddy production in 2002 was mainly affected by the rose of area harvested and productivity.
Production of maize in year 2002 (preliminary figure) was 9.53 million tons, which rose by 1.92 per cent over the production in 2001. The increase of maize production in 2002 was mainly due to the increase of productivity.
