Acting Chief Statistician of BPS, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, along with senior officials, participated in the Regional Inflation Control Coordination Meeting at the Ministry of Home Affairs on 9 December. The event also included a session to disseminate the 2025 Minimum Wage Policy. As a keynote speaker, Amalia presented insights on inflation trends and the Price Index Development for the first week of December 2024. "Indonesia's year-on-year inflation throughout 2024 has consistently remained within the government’s target range, largely supported by stable food prices," Amalia remarked.
President Prabowo Subianto attended the meeting and emphasized the importance of sustaining the current inflation control mechanisms. He commended the success of keeping national inflation below 3%, even amid global uncertainties.
The President also underscored the critical role of achieving food self-sufficiency as a key strategy for controlling inflation. He highlighted the importance of accurate data from BPS on food supply to support this priority. Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Tito Karnavian echoed this view, stressing that reliable data from BPS is instrumental to the success of Indonesia’s inflation management programs.
