In partnership with the United Nations Statistics Division, Asian Development Bank, and OECD, Statistics Indonesia (BPS) hosted an international workshop focused on SDMX Data Dissemination and Reporting. The event introduced participants to essential skills in data modeling, mapping, validation, reporting, and dissemination under the Statistical Data and Metadata Exchange (SDMX) standards. Representatives from Indonesia, Brunei, and Bhutan joined, bringing together 23 participants for this knowledge-sharing forum.
The workshop, held from September 9-12, 2024, at the BPS Training Center, sought to strengthen practical SDMX skills and encourage its national adoption. BPS’ Deputy Chief Statistician for Distribution and Services Statistics, Pudji Ismartini, officially opened the event, underscoring its importance for regional data integration.
Concluding on September 13, participants toured BPS’s National Statistics Command Centre (NSCC), where they were welcomed by Principal Secretary Imam Machdi. Discussions were led by Director of Statistical Dissemination, Dwi Retno Wilujeng Wahyu Utami, followed by a guided tour with Director of Statistical Information Systems, Joko Parmiyanto, who explained the NSCC’s role in supporting BPS’s data quality initiatives.
This workshop highlighted Indonesia’s commitment, through BPS, to advancing data management standards in the region. With a focus on collaboration, BPS continues to lead efforts toward more transparent, standardized data systems for a globally integrated future.
