BPS-Statistics Indonesia recently welcomed a delegation from the Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC) of the Republic of Ghana. Acting Principal Secretary of BPS, Imam Machdi, received the PIAC delegation, accompanied by the Deputy Chief Statistician for Production Statistics, M. Habibullah; Deputy Chief Statistician for Distribution and Services Statistics, Pudji Ismartini; and officials from relevant BPS units.
Imam emphasized that this visit would strengthen the bilateral relationship between Indonesia and Ghana. He further highlighted that the enhancement of statistics aims to produce reliable data, extending beyond ASEAN. BPS's role on the international stage has been recognized, as demonstrated by Indonesia's designation by the United Nations Statistical Commission (UNSC) as the Regional Hub on Big Data for Official Statistics in Asia and the Pacific.
Odeefuo Amoakwa Boadu VIII, Vice Chairman of PIAC, stated that during this visit, PIAC would conduct a comparative study on the management and utilization of oil revenues in Indonesia. Additionally, PIAC is exploring potential cooperation in the areas of transparency, accountability, and good governance within the oil and gas sector.
